About Us

Queen’Bijoux began with a long-held dream to visit Ghana. In 2019, I finally had the opportunity to travel there and I fell in love with the culture and the hospitality.

It was during that trip that I was first introduced to waist beads . I was fascinated by their beauty and symbolism, but I didn’t purchase any at the time. Within a couple months of returning home, I ordered a few waist beads online and quickly realized the quality did not reflect the tradition. They were elastic, poorly made, and one even rolled off my body unexpectedly in a store. It was kind of embarrassing! But more than that, it made me realize something was missing.

Waist beads are meant to be intentional. Traditional. Tie-on. And made to last.

That experience pushed me to do things differently. I placed my first order directly from Ghana, sourcing handmade, traditional tie-on waist beads crafted with care. During a second trip, I met with my vendor face-to-face, building relationships rooted in trust, respect, and authenticity.

What started as a desire for better quality turned into Queen’Bijoux.

By 2021, the brand expanded beyond waist beads into cow horn and brass jewelry, Maasai leather sandals, African print kimonos, and other handcrafted accessories sourced from skilled artisans in Ghana and Kenya.

Queen’Bijoux exists to honor craftsmanship and culture while making it accessible to every woman. You don’t have to belong to a culture to appreciate its beauty — you simply wear it with respect and love.
